Modernist Biodegradable Bottle
Staying hydrated is one of the most important factors whilst you’re in the saddle. The VB Modernist bidons designed by Scott Mitchell are made of at least 20% post-industrial recycled plastic, Polyethylene and a revolutionary Masterbatch additive which makes the bottles biodegradable. How it works…
The biodegrading process only begins once a bottle reaches its final destination in a landfill (litter, composting facility, home composter etc). It is not affected by heat, sunlight or moisture so there’s no need to worry about the bottles starting to biodegrade while in use.
The masterbatch additive works by encouraging and supporting the bacteria present. When products naturally biodegrade it converts the base materials into a food source for microbes with no harmful or toxic residues. The bottles will 100% biodegrade, but this process can take anywhere from 1-5 years depending on the surrounding conditions. If the bottle is never exposed to an environment rich in bacteria, enzymes and carbon dioxide producing microorganisms, the bottle will maintain its form for hundreds of years.
